ABOUT ZACHERY
Zachery Lashway is currently co-anchor of The Morning Show weekend edition on WJXT-News4JAX. His reports can be seen across multiple News4JAX broadcasts and platforms.
Throughout the COVID19 pandemic, Lashway has kept the people of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia safe and informed with up-to-date information.
During the 2020 presidential election, Lashway anchored breaking news coverage, announcing Joe Biden was the projected winner of the 2020 presidential election.
Since joining News4JAX, Lashway has reported extensively on the 1985 murder investigation of a deacon and his wife killed inside their Georgia church which lead to a nearly 20-year-old conviction being overturned. Lashway reported on the Boeing 737-800 crash at N.A.S JAX and the deadly mass shooting at The Jacksonville Landing.
Before moving to the Sunshine State, Lashway was an anchor/reporter at KARE 11 in the Twin Cities. During his tenure in Minnesota, he reported on the deaths of Prince and Mary Tyler Moore; the police-involved shootings of Jamar Clark, Philando Castile and Justine Damond; Senator Al Franken’s resignation and Super Bowl LII. Lashway also covered Hurricane Matthew’s devastation along the First Coast and surrounding counties in 2016.
Prior to working and living in the Upper Midwest, Lashway was an anchor/reporter at PHL 17 in Philadelphia. There he covered Pope Francis’ visit to the United States; Superstorm Sandy’s destruction; President Obama and Michelle Obama’s visits to Philadelphia; the death of Beau Biden and the deadly derailment of Amtrak 181.
Lashway began his broadcasting career as a morning anchor at KRTV/KXLH in Montana.
Lashway is a two-time Edward R. Murrow Award recipient.
A graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, Lashway was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York.
Lashway lives in Duval with his Saint Bernard, Sully.
